Jazz in MerseysideYour comprehensive guide to jazz in Merseyside Merseyside stretches from Southport, with its Victorian street furniture and golden sands, down to the Wirral peninsula, flanked by the Mersey and the Dee. The city of Liverpool is at the heart of the region, with its celebrated ferry and grand iconic waterfront architecture. LiverpoolJazz are the promotion and support agency for jazz in the city and stage regular events at a variety of venues; there are regular monthly mainstream concerts from Southport Melodic Jazz Club; Southport International Jazz Festival every June; thriving traditional and free jazz scenes; major contemporary concerts at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and a busy traditional jazz pub circuit on the Wirral.
